Cellulite a word from a nutritionist. Celulite a palavra da Nutricionista.

It's always helpful to from know where exactly we inherit the nightmare that we all suffer. There are some factors that can help provoke the appearance of that dreaded celulite such as: hormones, a sedentary lifestyle, obestiy, excessive consumption of sugars and fats, genetic pre-disposition, anxiety, depression, stress, circulatory disruptions, pregnancy, intestinal disfunction and external compression such as tight fitting clothes and tights.

All of the conventional treatments have at their core the aim of reducing the appearance of aesthetic problems. Nutrition on the other hand, attempts to achieve results through the hidration and good condition of the skin.

There are many essential nutrients that are recommended:
  • Lecithin - present in eggs, soy, cauliflower, peanuts, oranges, potatoes, tomatoes, spinach. Acts to strengthen and moisturise the skin.
  • Vitamin B - found in wheat germ, grains and wholemeal cereals, beans, dark-green vegetables, mushrooms, birds, avocado, banana and watermelon. Nutrify the skin and leave it softer.
  • Essential Fatty acids - olive oil, walnuts, almonds, chestnuts, tuna, salmon, sunflower and linseed seeds. Increase absorbtion of water in cells and lubricate the body's 'gears'.
  • Amino-acids found in meat, dairy, eggs, soy, green leafy vegetables, walnuts. Stimulate the production of collagen and improve elasticity.
  • Anti-oxidants, present in raw fruit and vegetables, red wine, carrots, pomegranate, citrus fruits, soy and wholegrain cereals. Help to prevent the formation of nodules and crevices.
  • Anti-inflamatory foods such as lettuce, brocoli, spinach, beans, peas, primrose oil, fruits, olive oil and cold water fish all help to inhibit the enzyme responsible for inflamation.
  • Glycosamine, found in prawn shells and in supplements. Help to repair the dermis and strengthen the veins.

Nunca é demais sabermos exatamente de onde herdamos o pesadelo que todas sofremos. Existem alguns fatores que podem auxiliar no aparecimento das temidas celulites, tais como: hormonais, sedentarismo, obesidade, ingestão exagerada de açucares e gorduras, predisposição genética e familiar, ansiedade, depressão e estresse, distúrbio circulatório, gravidez, disfunção intestinal, compressão externas, como roupas justas e meia elástica.

Todos os tratamentos convencionais têm a função de diminuir os efeitos inestéticos ou ajudar a atenuá-los. A nutrição por sua vez, tende a melhorar a hidratação da pele e o tecido de base.

Sendo recomendados alguns nutrientes essenciais:
  • Lecitina, presente nos ovos, soja, couve-flor, amendoim, laranja, batata, tomate, espinafre. Atua fortalecendo a pele e favorece a hidratação.
  • Vitamina B, encontrada no gérmen de trigo, grãos e cereais integrais, feijões, vegetais verde-escuros, cogumelos, aves, abacate, banana, melancia. Nutrem a pele, deixando-a mais macia. 
  • Os ácidos grassos essenciais, como: azeite de oliva, nozes, amêndoas, castanhas, atum, salmão, semente de linhaça e de girassol. Atraem água para as células e lubrificam as engrenagens do corpo.
  • Os aminoácidos das carnes, leite e derivados, ovos, soja, vegetais de folhas verdes, nozes, estimulam a produção de colágeno e elastina.
  • Os antioxidantes, presentes nas frutas e vegetais crus, vinho tinto, cenoura, manga, romã, frutas cítricas, soja e cereais integrais. Agem impedindo a formação de nódulos e dos furinhos. 
  • Os alimentos com ação anti-inflamatória como: alface, brócolis, espinafre, feijões, ervilhas, óleo de prímula, frutas, azeite de oliva e peixes de água fria, inibem a enzima responsável pelo processo inflamatório.
  • A glicosamina, encontrada na casca do camarão, suplementos a base de quitosana.Tem função de reparar a derme e fortalece os vasos sanguíneos.
